The 2023 hunting season in Kazakhstan has successfully concluded. As is customary, we present our Annual Report summarizing the results of this year’s trophy hunting. The season ran from 15 July until mid-October, and once again demonstrated the exceptional quality of our hunting grounds, the professionalism of our team, and the outstanding achievements of our international guests.

Hunter Demographics

In 2023, our company hosted hunters from 15 countries, creating a truly global hunting community in the heart of Central Asia. The diversity of participants — from Western and Central Europe to North America and beyond — confirms the international appeal of hunting with ProHunt and the reputation we have built over many seasons.

  • Germany — 22.0%
  • Hungary — 14.0%
  • Spain — 14.0%
  • Denmark — 8.0%
  • Austria — 8.0%
  • Italy — 6.0%
  • Bulgaria — 6.0%
  • France — 6.0%
  • Turkey — 4.0%
  • Russia, USA, Romania, Poland, Czechia, Canada — 2.0%

Our hunting programs were carried out in three exclusive areas: Tastau and Zhasylkol, where mountain hunting for ibex and maral remained the cornerstone of our offerings, and Karakastek, dedicated to hunting for Siberian roe deer. Each area provided unique terrain and unforgettable experiences, from rugged mountain ridges to rolling foothills.

  • Tastau — 56%
  • Zhasylkol — 34%
  • Karakastek — 7%

The analysis of hunting data shows that the majority of registrations for firearms and participation were concentrated in Tastau and Zhasylkol, reflecting the high demand for ibex and maral hunts. Hunters travelled with a range of rifles and calibres suited to mountain and steppe conditions. Premium European rifle systems were among the most frequently used, and powerful calibres such as .300 Winchester Magnum and 7mm Remington Magnum dominated — a testament to the seriousness with which our guests approach trophy hunting in Kazakhstan.

Top rifle brands: Blaser R8; Blaser R93; SAUER 404; etc.

Top calibers: .300 Win. Mag., 7 mm Rem. Mag, 270 Win, .308 Win.

Trophy measurements from the season confirm the sustained quality of wildlife in our managed territories. Recorded ibex horn lengths averaged at competitive levels, with many exceeding significant trophy thresholds. Maral trophies also demonstrated excellent weight and antler development, reinforcing the reputation of Kazakhstan as a premier destination for big game hunting in Asia.

Ibex:

  • Average horn length: ≈117.7 cm
  • Range: 70.0–135.0 cm.

Maral (weight):

  • Average weight: ≈12.05 kg
  • Range: 9.0–14.5 kg.
