Tastau Hunting Grounds
The “Tastau” hunting grounds cover an area of 36,851 hectares in the Dzungarian Alatau Mountains, a region that occupies an intermediate position between the Tien Shan, a typical Central Asian mountain system, and the mountains of southern Siberia. Nevertheless, the Dzungarian Alatau is part of the Tien Shan mountain range. “Tastau” is a unique hunting area where record trophies listed in the SCI record book have been taken. Due to its location near a border control zone, the disturbance to wildlife is minimal. There is virtually no livestock, shepherds, or poachers; this area is dedicated exclusively to trophy hunting. Additionally, “Tastau” is the only place in the world where combined hunting for maral and Siberian ibex is possible, with trophies reaching over 13 kg and 120 cm respectively. The camp can accommodate up to 4 hunters simultaneously.
